Where retinol often feels intimidating, Anua takes a gentler approach: 0.11% encapsulated Retinol paired with 5% Niacinamide to renew skin texture without disrupting the skin barrier. The results reveal themselves over time — smoother, more even skin that feels noticeably firmer.
Texture and actives — The Retinol is nano-encapsulated, a technique that shields the molecule until it reaches deeper layers of the skin and reduces the risk of irritation. It works alongside five distinct ceramides — Ceramide NP, Ceramide AS, Ceramide AP, Ceramide NS, and Ceramide NG — which rebuild the skin's natural lipid film. Sodium Hyaluronate and Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate work at two different depths to lock moisture into the skin. For a brighter complexion, Madecassoside — an isolated fraction of Centella Asiatica — soothes and strengthens, while 5% Niacinamide addresses uneven skin tone. A few more ingredients are worth mentioning: Copper Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 support firmness, Beta-Glucan reinforces the skin's natural defenses, and Guaiazulene — an azulene-based molecule with its distinctive blue hue — calms inflammatory reactions. The texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue.
How to use — This serum is designed for your evening routine only, applied after cleansing and toning. One to two pumps are enough for face and neck — pat gently without rubbing until fully absorbed. If you're new to retinol, using it two to three evenings a week gives your skin time to build tolerance before increasing frequency. Follow with a moisturizer to seal everything in. The next morning, SPF is non-negotiable: retinol makes skin more sensitive to sun exposure.
